Bus Towing Company Takes on 4 Burnt Buses

Emptying, Smashing, Crushing, Lifting: Moving 5 Burnt Buses in 3 Days

The recovery and disposal of four burnt buses and one burnt service truck in Forestville, MD, needed all hands on deck for this bus towing company. While Road Runner Wrecker Service does not normally service the other side of the capital beltway, they were the only company in the area capable of handling this fiery job.

All the buses were parked when one had suddenly caught fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Unfortunately, the fire spread quickly and by the time it was put under control it had burned and destroyed four buses and one service truck.

Road Runner’s team had a huge task ahead of them so they brought in their heavy duty towing equipment. The first hurdle to jump over involved fuel, a lot of fuel. A service truck was brought in to empty all the burned vehicles of the fuel. Now, the heavy lifting could start.

Actually, not really. The buses were still too high to be towed on the Landoll. In order for all the buses to fit properly on the Landoll, the bus towing team had to get creative. They brought in an excavator to smash the buses roofs in, making them the ideal height for transport. Next, a heavy duty rotator was used to lift the buses and load them onto the Landoll. Three days after the job began, the bus towing team was able to tow the burned buses to a salvage yard.

Great job team!
