50k Pound Tanker Truck Needs Heavy Duty Towing

Tanker Truck Needs a Wash and Heavy Duty Towing from Road Runner Wrecker Service

The Road Runner Heavy Duty Towing team recommends for drivers to always be extra careful on muddy roads! The Road Runner Heavy Duty Towing team was recently contacted to extract a large (and full) tanker trailer out of the mud just outside of Chantilly in Virginia. This 50.000-pound truck got stuck in the mud after sliding off the road on a one-way country path in the woods. The frequent rain from the last couple of days made the mud almost like quicksand. The more the driver tried to get the truck out, the deeper and deeper it sank. In the 90 minutes it took the heavy duty team of Road Runner to arrive at the scene, the truck has disappeared almost halfway into the mud, covering the headlight and tires on the left side already. It was a muddy sight! What made the job more complicated for the heavy-duty towing team was the location; a narrow single-lane country road, in the forest. This single lane is simply too narrow for other vehicles to pass which made the job quite challenging however, the Heavy Duty Towing team at Road Runner Wrecker Service made it work. All it took was some snatch blocks, cables, ropes, creativity, and hard labor. The team used the surrounding trees to provide leverage as they couldn’t get the truck out from the side; it worked like a charm! All the truck needed was a detailed washing after all that hard work. Excellent job, Road Runner heavy towing team! The owner of the truck was thrilled after the wash, as his truck was as good as new and did not suffer any damage to the bumper or headlight whatsoever. Well done!

Details of Heavy Duty Towing of Tanker Truck

Road Runner Wrecker Service received a call the other day; a 50.000-pound tanker trailer slid off the road when driving backwards on a one-way country lane just outside of Chantilly in Virginia. The truck needed to be pulled out of the mud. Road Runner Wrecker Service headed out north to Melville Ln, turned left to Melville Ln and left again onto Stringfellow Rd for 1.4 mi. They drove on the left side of the road to turn left onto US-50 W and after 4.2 mi they made a turn to the right to get to Pleasant Valley Rd. From there they made a left turn onto Wade Dr and there was the victim truck, sunken almost halfway into the mud. Road Runner Wrecker Service arrived at the scene approximately 90 minutes after the incident. The heavy duty towing team couldn’t pass the truck as it got stuck on a narrow one-way goat lane but with the help of the surrounding trees and professional towing gear, the team managed to pull the truck out of the mud and back onto the road. They used 4 snatch blocks, lots of ropes running back and forth to pull the 50.000 pound truck up. After a good rinse, the truck was as good a new and the owner couldn’t be happier. A job well done to the hardworking towing services team at Road Runner Wrecker Service!
